San Francisco, Aug 16 (IANS) A United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Rome was diverted for the second consecutive day. United Airlines Flight 507, operated by a Boeing 777-200, was diverted to Edmonton, Canada, due to a passenger medical emergency, a spokesperson from the carrier was quoted by Xinhua news agency as saying on Thursday. The flight touched down at Edmonton International Airport approximately 6.5 hours after departure from San Francisco International Airport on Wednesday afternoon. Latvia’s airBaltic suspends flights to Tel Aviv over security concerns

Riga, Aug 13 (IANS) The Latvian airline airBaltic has suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv over security concerns, the media reported. AirBaltic spokesman Augusts Zilberts told the LETA news agency that the security concerns are related to a possible escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. Earlier, airBaltic had cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 11, Xinhua news agency reported. Ethiopian Airlines to build mega airport with annual capacity of 100 million passengers

Addis Ababa, Aug 10 (IANS) Ethiopian Airlines, the flag carrier of Ethiopia, and Dar Al-Handasah, an international consulting firm, signed an agreement on Friday for the design and supervision of a new mega airport to be built near Bishoftu town, about 42 km east of the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. Vladivostok, Aug 7 (IANS) Two people were confirmed dead after a light aircraft that went missing in Russia's far eastern Primorye Territory was found crashed, local media reported on Wednesday. US military helicopter makes emergency landing in Japan

India records 6.3 pc rise in domestic flyers at 132.8 lakh in June
