India successfully test fires exo-atmospheric missile interceptor

Bhubaneswar : India Sunday successfully test-fired an exo-atmospheric missile interceptor for the first time at a defence base in Odisha as part of its efforts to create a shield against incoming enemy missiles, a senior defence official said. The indigenous Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile was fired from Wheeler Island off the coast near Dhamra port in Bhadrak district, about 170 km from here. Bhubaneswar : India Wednesday test fired its Akash surface-to-air missile from a defence base in Odisha, an official said. The indigenously developed missile, with a 27-km range and an effective ceiling of 15 km, was test fired from the Integrated Test Range of Chandipur in the coastal district of Balasore, 230 km from here. New Delhi: India has changed the dynamics of sea-warfare in its vicinity and test-fired a long range nuclear capable missile launched from an underwater platform to practice a missile launch from a submarine. Bhubaneswar : India Monday successfully test-fired its Akash medium-range surface-to-air missile from a defence base in Odisha, for the second time in less than a week, officials said. The indigenously-developed missile, with a 27-km range and an effective ceiling of 15 km, was test-fired from the Integrated Test Range of Chandipur in the coastal district of Balasore, 230 km from Bhubaneswar. India to conduct night trial of Agni-I missile

Bhubaneswar : India is preparing to conduct the first night trial of Agni-I ballistic missile from a defence base in Odisha, defence sources said Monday. The indigenously developed surface to surface missile, which can strike a target over 700 km away, would be fired from Wheeler Island off the coast near Dhamra in Bhadrak district, 170 km from state capital Bhubaneswar. New Delhi : India''s first indigenous nuclear-powered attack submarine, INS Arihant, should be ready for deterrence patrols from 2015, roughly in about a year''s time from now, its developers say. DRDO to showcase Agni missile, LCA s at science meet

New Delhi : The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will showcase models of Agni missiles and the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) at the Indian Science Congress to be held in Jammu from Feb 3. Bhubaneswar : India Tuesday successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable surface-to-surface Prithvi-II missile from a military base in Odisha, a senior defence official said. The indigenously-developed ballistic missile with a maximum range of 350 km was fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur-on-sea in Balasore district, about 230 km from Bhubaneswar.
