India tests n-capable Agni-III missile

Bhubaneswar : India Monday successfully test fired its nuclear-capable Agni-III ballistic missile from a base in Odisha, a defence official said. The surface-to-surface missile, with a range of over 3,000 km, was fired from a launching complex at the Inner Wheeler Island off the coast of Dhamra in Bhadrak district, about 200 km from here. India finally flies indigenous fighter jet

Bangalore : Thirty years after it was conceived, India''s indigenous light combat aircraft Tejas - the lightest military jet in its class - Friday got initial operational clearance, paving the way for its induction into the Indian Air Force (IAF). Tejas can fly at a speed of more than 1,350 km per hour and can be compared to some of the world''s best fighter aircraft -- the Mirage 2000, F-16 and Gripen fighter jets. Heavy Para Drop System developed by DRDO

New Delhi: DRDO has developed a 16 ton capacity heavy drop system (HDS) consisting of a platform and a highly advanced system of parachutes. This para drop system can drop loads of military stores such as vehicles (including BMP class), supplies and ammunition from IL76 heavy lift aircraft. The system has been designed, developed and demonstrated. Bhubaneswar : India Tuesday successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable Prithvi-II surface-to-surface missile from a military base in Odisha for the third time within two months, a senior official said. The indigenously-developed ballistic missile with a maximum range of 350 km was fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur-on-sea in Balasore district, about 230 km from Bhubaneswar. Bhubaneswar : India Friday successfully test fired its indigenously developed nuclear-capable surface-to-surface Agni-I missile from a military base in Odisha, a defence official said. The missile, which can strike a target 700 km away, was tested by the Strategic Force Command of the army from a facility on Wheeler Island near Dhamra in Bhadrak district, 170 km from here. Defence minister tells DRDO to complete projects in time

New Delhi : Defence Minister A.K. Antony Wednesday asked the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to complete its projects within the prescribed time-frame. DRDO should concentrate on high-end research, particularly in critical and strategic areas, Antony said at a high-level meeting here.
