Etihad Airways, Korean Air expand code share agreement

Abu Dhabi : Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has expanded its code share agreement with Korean Air, South Korea''s largest airline, to include six new destinations. In the second phase of cooperation, Etihad Airways will place its EY code on Korean Air services from Seoul Incheon to Honolulu, Vancouver and Hong Kong. Korean Air will place its KE code on Etihad Airways'' flights from Abu Dhabi to Johannesburg, Muscat and, subject to government approval, Khartoum. AirAsia warns of recruitment scamsters

Chennai : Malaysian budget airlines AirAsia Thursday warned the public against responding to false recruitment offers for its Indian operations, and said it will not be responsible for the acts of unauthorised recruitment agencies. In a statement issued here, AirAsia said it has lodged a police complaint against an unaffiliated agency for running a job scam. "It has come to the airline''s attention that an unaffiliated agency in India is using the AirAsia brand for false recruitment purposes and demanding payment from its candidates. Jet-Etihad deal gets FIPB approval

New Delhi : The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) has approved the proposed 24 percent stake-sale in Jet Airways to Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said Monday. "As far as I know, the (deal) has been cleared by the FIPB with minor changes to the language. All issues raised by civil aviation ministry has been resolved. Etihad Airways, Air Seychelles expand codeshare to Kuwait

Abu Dhabi : Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, Thursday announced an expansion of its codeshare partnership with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, for flights to Kuwait via Abu Dhabi. The newly added codeshare destination will see Air Seychelles and Etihad Airways offer 10 seamless return flights per week from Kuwait to the Seychelles, including a daily service. Etihad Airways gets Airbus, Boeing flight simulators

Abu Dhabi : Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has purchased seven state-of-the-art full flight simulators worth more than $200 million. The simulators bought from Canadian manufacturer CAE will be based at the airline''s training academy in Abu Dhabi. The first simulators, of an A320, is scheduled for delivery in November. UAE embassy helps evacuate Emiratis from Egypt

Cairo : More than 50 Emirati citizens have been evacuated from Egypt and the UAE embassy in Cairo is closely monitoring the situation, the UAE''s ambassador has said. The evacuation was being done under the directives of UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said UAE envoy and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri.
