K-15 SLBM test on March 16 was unsuccessful

New Delhi: India’s 700 kms range Sagarika (K-15) submarine launched ballistic missile (SLBM) tested on 16 March 2012, was unsuccessful. This was the second test within a span of five days. The first test in the last fortnight, was carried out on 11 March which was reported to be successful. Both tests took place about 10 kms off Visakhapatam on the east coast of India. In the absence of a submarines, the missile tests were carried out from a submerged pontoon, simulating a submarine. Sagarika is a DRDO project. No cap on Agni missile project: India

New Delhi : Bouyed by the success of its long-range Agni-V ballistic missile test, India Friday said it will not "cap" its three-decade-old programme and continue to develop more missiles in the series with modern, latest technologies. LCA Tejas LSP – 7 Maiden Flight

New Delhi: Indigenous Tejas fighter aircraft's limited series production- 7 (LSP-7) aircraft took-off for its maiden flight from HAL airport at 4:27 pm on 9th March 2012. This test flight is significant for the program, as LSP -7 build-standard is close to the initial operational clearance (IOC) standard. India successfully test-fires missile interceptor

Bhubaneswar : India Friday successfully tested a ballistic missile interceptor from a defence base in Odisha as part of its efforts to create a shield against incoming enemy missiles, a senior defence official said. The indigenous Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile was fired from Wheeler Island off the coast near Dhamra in Bhadrak district, about 170 km from here. India successfully tests pilotless aircraft

Balasore (Orissa) : India Tuesday successfully tested the indigenously developed pilotless target aircraft (PTA) Lakshya from a military base in Orissa, official sources said. It was test flown from the integrated test range (ITR) at Chandipur in Balasore, 215 km from the capital Bhubaneswar, around 11.40 a.m. Lakshya, a sub-sonic, reusable aerial target system, is remote-controlled from the ground and designed to impart training to pilots for weapon engagements.

Pilotless target aircraft Lakshya-II successfully tested

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi ; India s indigenous Lakshya-II pilotless target aircraft has been tested successfully off a test range in Balasore, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has said.
