South Korea: Lee set to attend UN General Assembly in New York next week

Seoul, Sep 19 (IANS) South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will travel to New York next week to attend the UN General Assembly, where he will deliver an address and preside over an open debate of the UN Security Council, the presidential office said Friday. United Nations, May 17 (IANS) The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution to designate November 26 every year as World Sustainable Transport Day. UNGA designates Feb 12 as prevention of violent extremism day

United Nations, Dec 21 (IANS) The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution to designate February 12 each year as the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism as and when Conducive to Terrorism. The resolution was adopted with 154 votes in favour, 0 against, and 4 abstentions, reports Xinhua news agency. Belarus, the Republic of Congo, Madagascar and Russia abstained.
