Finally, Philippines will have India’s Brahmos missiles

New Delhi: Exactly six months before his term expires, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has added final touches to the modernization of the country's armed forces with acquisition of missile corvettes, Black Hawk combat helicopters, Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) and India's BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. Philippine government's Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on December 27 released two Special Allotment Release Orders (SAROs) to cover the initial funding requirements of the 'Shore-Based Anti-Ship Missile System Acquisition Project' of the Philippine Navy under the Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Programme. NASA a step closer to building quieter supersonic X-plane

NASA a step closer to building quieter supersonic X-plane

Washington: In a major step towards building an actual X-plane, NASA has completed the preliminary design review of its Quiet Supersonic Transport or QueSST aircraft design. QueSST is the initial design stage of the agency's planned Low Boom Flight Demonstration (LBFD) experimental airplane, otherwise known as an X-plane, NASA said in a statement on Tuesday. Senior experts and engineers from across the agency and the Lockheed Martin Corporation concluded that the QueSST design is capable of fulfilling the LBFD aircraft's mission objectives, which are to fly at supersonic speeds, but create a soft "thump" instead of the disruptive sonic boom associated…
