Putin signs law to raise military draft age

Moscow, Aug 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law to raise the maximum military draft age from 27 to 30. The relevant document has been published on Russia's official legal information portal, Xinhua news agency reported. With the new amendments, all men aged 18-30 will be subject to compulsory military service starting from January 1, 2024. The Russian leader signed another law Friday to ban conscripts from leaving Russia as soon as they receive their draft notice from the enlistment office.

Russian Navy to receive 30 new ships this year: Putin

St. Petersburg, July 31, The Russian Navy will receive 30 new ships in 2023 as the country continues strengthening its naval forces, Russian President Vladimir Putin said here. Moscow, July 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Wagner mercenary group which staged a short-lived rebellion against the country's military leadership in June, "simply does not exist". Putin signs law denouncing agreement with Ukraine on Sea of Azov, Kerch Strait

Moscow, June 14 (IANS) Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law denouncing the 2003 treaty between Russia and Ukraine on cooperating in using the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait. The treaty originally stipulated that the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait were internal waters of Russia and Ukraine. Vessels from both sides were allowed to navigate the Kerch Strait freely.
