5 terrorists killed in encounter at LoC in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 16 (IANS) Five foreign terrorists were killed in an ongoing encounter at the Line of Control in Kashmir's Kupwara district, officials said on Friday. "Five foreign terrorists killed in encounter. Search in the (Jumagund) area is going on," Jammu and Kashmir Police quoting Inspector General Police Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar tweeted. Police said the encounter started after joint parties of the army and police received specific input of the presence of terrorists in the area.

G20 delegates leaving Kashmir after 3-day eventful visit

Srinagar, May 25 (IANS) After an eventful three-day visit to Kashmir, G20 delegates are leaving for Delhi on Thursday. "All the G20 delegates are leaving in a chartered flight around 10.20 a.m. for Delhi from Srinagar international airport after the successful completion of the group's 3-day visit to Kashmir", officials said. The group delegates held the 3rd tourism working group meeting here on Monday. They went for a 'Shikara' boat joyride on Dal Lake the same evening. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the delegates went around scenic spots in Srinagar, including the 18-hole Royal Spring Golf Course and the Nishat Mughal Garden.…

Infiltration bid foiled, Pak trying to disturb peace in Kashmir: Army (Ld)

Srinagar, Feb 16 (IANS) The Army has foiled an infiltration attempt in the forward area of Tangdhar sector in North Kashmir's Kupwara district, thereby preventing efforts of Pakistan to destabilise peace in Kashmir, said officers on Thursday. Pakistan’s olive branch to India – letter from Shehbaz Sharif to PM Modi proposes ‘meaningful engagement’
