Gujarat: Indian Coast Guard to inaugurate facilities in Okha, Veraval

Ahmedabad, March 26, The Indian Coast Guard will inaugurate its Hovercraft Maintenance Unit (HMU) and lay the foundation stone for a new jetty at Okha on March 28, followed by the opening of the Operational Team Mess (OTM) and Married Accommodations in Veraval on March 29 in Gujarat. The Defence Secretary will officiate as the Chief Guest at both events, significantly enhancing the Coast Guard's operational infrastructure. Colombo, Feb 28, Indian Coast Guard ships Samarth, an Offshore Patrol Vessel and Abhinav, Fast Patrol Vessel, arrived at Southern port city of Galle for training and professional interaction, the Indian High Commission in Colombo said. "The ships will visit Colombo from March 2 to 5 before departing the Island nation. Kolkata, March 21 (IANS) The 16 Anti-Submarine Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) being built for the Indian Navy by the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd and Cochin Shipyard Ltd (eight each) will have 'desi' hull-mounted sonar. This fact came to light during the launch of INS Androth, second in the series of the eight ASW SWCs being built by GRSE.
