DRDO’s chaff technology to safeguard naval ships from missile attack

New Delhi: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed an advanced chaff technology which will protect naval ships against enemy missile attack. Defence laboratory Jodhpur (DLJ), a DRDO laboratory, has indigenously developed three variants of this critical technology, namely Short Range Chaff Rocket (SRCR), Medium Range Chaff Rocket (MRCR) and Long Range Chaff Rocket (LRCR) meeting Indian Navy's qualitative requirements. DRDO installs disinfection chamber at AIIMS on trial basis

New Delhi: In the ongoing fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has installed its newly developed full body disinfection chamber at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).The chamber will help in controlling the spread of coronavirus. A senior DRDO officer told IANS, "It has been installed on trial basis. We are looking how it is working." SECOND FLIGHT TEST OF MPATGM SUCCESSFUL

New Delhi: Indigenously developed Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM), was successfully flight tested for the second time from the Ahmednagar range today. All the mission objectives have been met. The two missions on 15 and 16 September 2018 have been successfully flight tested for different ranges including the maximum range capability. Mars 2020 rover to use X-ray techniques to find signs of life

Paris: NASA's Mars 2020 rover mission, which aims look for signs of past life on the Red Planet, will use smart X-ray techniques originally developed to find the oldest life on Earth, according a mission scientist. India test fires Prithvi II missile

Bhubaneswar: India on Friday successfully test fired its indigenous nuclear-capable Prithvi-II missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha.The surface-to-surface medium range ballistic missile was fired from a mobile launcher from launch complex-3 of ITR at around 9.50 a.m., official sources said. The test was part of the regular training exercise by the Indian armed forces. The launch was carried out by the specially formed strategic force command (SFC), which was monitored by scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the sources added. IAF gets AEW&C; India only fourth country to develop eye-in-sky technology

Bengaluru: An indigenous Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&C) christened 'Netra' was handed over to the IAF on Tuesday at the ongoing 'Aero India 2017' here, ushering India into an elite club of nations that have developed such technology on their own. The United States, Russia and Israel are the other countries which have developed the technology for the system.
