BSF refutes Bangladesh’s charge of killing teen girl along border with Tripura

Agartala, Sep 5 (IANS) Border Security Force (BSF) officials on Thursday strongly refuted Bangladesh government’s accusation on the killing of a 13-year-old girl, Shwarna Das, saying its troopers during a routine patrolling found the girl’s body on September 1 from near the Laitapura Border Outpost (BOP) in Tripura's Unakoti district. Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday, "The MoFA has lodged a formal protest with the Government of India on the killing of a 13-year-old Bangladeshi girl named Shwarna Das from Juri upazila in Moulvibazar district, who was shot by the BSF on September 1." Chandigarh, June 12 (IANS) A toy drone landed on the premises of the Central Jail in Amritsar early Monday, putting the police on high alert. The paramilitary forces and central jail staff were put on alert and a search operation launched. Suspecting an attack by gangsters or terrorists, the Punjab Police have been on alert. BSF troops fire at suspected Pakistani drone in J&K’s Samba

Jammu, April 1 (IANS) Alert Border Security Force (BSF) troops fired at a suspected Pakistani drone in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district on Saturday. A BSF spokesman said that a blinking light of a "suspected" drone was observed around 12.15 a.m. on the international border in Ramnagar area of Samba district. "Alert troops fired towards the blinking light after which the drone was forced to return," a BSF spokesman said.
