India to host two-day BRICS Summit in Delhi from September 12

New Delhi, Aug 27 (IANS) India will host the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12-13, bringing together leaders of BRICS members and partner countries as well as outreach invitees. New Delhi, Aug 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Johannesburg. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade and investment, connectivity, energy and counter-terrorism. Six nations to join BRICS grouping from Jan 1, 2024

New Delhi, Aug 24, The BRICS grouping on Thursday announced that six nations -- Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Argentina, the UAE and Saudi Arabia -- will be included as full time members. South Africa president Cyril Ramaphosa announced this at the BRICS summit. The membership will be effective from January 1, 2024.
