Air India cancels Chicago-Delhi flight after prolonged delay, passengers fume

New Delhi, March 15 A prolonged delay, and eventual cancellation, of the Air India flight from Chicago to Delhi left passengers fuming, as they complained that they were kept in the dark about the delays and the airline did not inform them about alternate arrangements to reach their destination till Wednesday evening. DGCA fined Air India 10 L for not reporting two incidents on the Paris-New Delhi flight.

New Delhi, Jan 24 (IANS) Aviation regulator DGCA imposed a financial penalty of Rs 10 lakh on Air India for not reporting the incidents which occurred on AI-142 Paris-New Delhi flight on December 6, 2022. Two incidents had occurred in the Air India flight. While one passenger who was caught smoking in the lavatory, was drunk and not adhering to the crew instructions; another passenger allegedly relieved himself on a vacant seat and blanket of a fellow female passenger when she went to the lavatory. Pilots’ body requests labour authority to restrain Air India from changing service conditions
