Fire in Bengaluru HAL scrap yard; no casualty

Bengaluru: A massive fire broke out in the scrap yard of state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) factory in the city's eastern suburb, an official said on Wednesday. No casualty was reported. "A fire broke out in the scrap yard of foundry and forge division of our factory earlier in the day due to the presence of magnesium metal in it. High Court of Karnataka Orders HAL Employees to Call-off Strike

Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka has passed an interim order today restraining the Hindustan Aeronautics Employees Association (HAEA), its office bearers/workmen from continuing their ongoing strike including go-slow, work to rule or any form of agitation or disrupting day-to-day activities of HAL and its offices in Bengaluru. It is now obligatory for the HAEA to immediately call-off the strike and resume the work, failing which it would amount to contempt of the court. Bengaluru: State-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) on Friday said trade unions of its employees issued an indefinite strike notice effective from October 14 at its 9 locations in seven states across the country for wage revision since January 2017. Cash-strapped HAL takes Rs 962-crore overdraft

Bengaluru: Cash-strapped state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) on Sunday said it had taken an overdraft of Rs 962 crore."With anticipated collection up to March, the cash position is expected to improve. NASA detects smiley in new galaxy

Washington: NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured a formation of galaxies that looks like a smiling face, said the US space agency.On Saturday, it posted an image on its Instagram handle that showed two yellow orbs above an arc of light -- painting a smiley face in space. Bengaluru: The Government owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited records a turnover of over Rs. 18,000 crores (provisional and unaudited) for the year ending March 31, 2018 (corresponding figure for the previous year was Rs. 17,605 crores). The Company expects continued “Excellent” MoU rating for the FY 2017-18 from Government of India on meeting all the relevant parameters related to its performance. Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed a Rs 6,100 crore contract to supply 41 Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) to the Indian Army and one to the Navy, an official statement said on Monday.
