Indigenous eye-in-the-sky being developed for Indian Air Force

New Delhi : An indigenous AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System), that enables the Indian Air Force (IAF) look up to 400 km into Pakistan and China while remaining in the safety of its own airspace, should be available by about 2020, its developer says. India test-fires n-capable missile

Bhubaneswar : India Tuesday successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable surface-to-surface Prithvi-II missile from a military base in Odisha, a senior defence official said. The indigenously-developed ballistic missile with a maximum range of 350 km was fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur-on-sea in Balasore district, about 230 km from Bhubaneswar. "The test was carried out by the strategic forces command as a part of the regular training exercise. The test was successful and the missile was tested for its full range," test range director M.V.K.V. Prasad told IANS.

India tests n-capable Agni-III missile

Bhubaneswar : India Monday successfully test fired its nuclear-capable Agni-III ballistic missile from a base in Odisha, a defence official said. The surface-to-surface missile, with a range of over 3,000 km, was fired from a launching complex at the Inner Wheeler Island off the coast of Dhamra in Bhadrak district, about 200 km from here. India finally flies indigenous fighter jet

Bangalore : Thirty years after it was conceived, India''s indigenous light combat aircraft Tejas - the lightest military jet in its class - Friday got initial operational clearance, paving the way for its induction into the Indian Air Force (IAF). Bhubaneswar : India Friday successfully test fired its indigenously developed nuclear-capable surface-to-surface Agni-I missile from a military base in Odisha, a defence official said. The missile, which can strike a target 700 km away, was tested by the Strategic Force Command of the army from a facility on Wheeler Island near Dhamra in Bhadrak district, 170 km from here. Defence minister tells DRDO to complete projects in time

New Delhi : Defence Minister A.K. Antony Wednesday asked the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to complete its projects within the prescribed time-frame. DRDO should concentrate on high-end research, particularly in critical and strategic areas, Antony said at a high-level meeting here.
